Attempts to consider the idea of 'race' alongside 'queer' often result in the submergence of raciality within queerness, leaving racialised groups silent and silenced - 'out of place' - within supposedly queer spaces.

Out of Place draws on a variety of methods to investigate these silences and asks questions of 'race' and 'queer' across academic theory, arts, activism, the media and everyday life.
